The Digit-al Dozen does Whimsy - Whimsical Trees

Hey there!  As I said yesterday, I was at a bit of a loss when it came to this week's Digit-al Dozen theme of Whimsy.  So I hit up Google and this image popped up and I thought maybe I could freehand it onto my nails.  The best part is that I got to be accidental twinsies with Ashley since she did the same image yesterday.  Hers look way more fun and whimsical though...mine looks more like a demonic octopus.  But a demonic octopus is whimsical in its own way, right?

There's not too much to explain as to how I did these.  I freehanded the trees and then used dotting tools and a whole pile of polishes to try to recreate the image I linked above.

My base is OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.  The tree trunks/limbs are OPI My Paprika Is Hotter Than Yours and the dots are OPI I’m Sooo Swamped!, The “It” Color, Rich Girls & Po-Boys, Casino Royale, Koala Bear-y and China Glaze Lotus Begin.  I tried to use all OPI's (since I knew I had a lot of OPI cremes) but turned out I don't have a light purple so China Glaze saved the day.

I wish I had added some birds like in the original inspiration.  That would have made it more tree-like.  But this mani was fun to do anyway.  Dotting tools are so easy and fun to use!

You can find everyone else's Day 2 Whimsical designs down below.  There's some good ones!

'Til next time...
